Short Bio

Jacob Ross is a Research Fellow at the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP), focusing on French foreign and security policy as well as Franco-German relations. Prior to joining DGAP, Ross worked as an assistant at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and for a Franco-German member of the French National Assembly. He gained practical experience in French foreign policy through positions in two departments of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

In addition to his briefings and analyses, Ross regularly publishes commentary on French domestic and foreign policy and on Franco-German relations, particularly in Die Welt and Cicero.

Ross spent the majority of his academic training in France: first through a Franco-German dual-degree program at the Institut d'Études Politiques (IEP) in Lille, followed by studies at the IEP in Paris and at the École nationale d’administration (ENA) in Strasbourg. He also pursued studies in international relations and economics at the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of Johns Hopkins University in Bologna.
