On 21 April 2019, Ukrainians will be electing their next president. The two candidates who made it to the second round, incumbent President Petro Poroshenko and political novice and comedian, Volodymyr Zelensky, have pitched themselves in their campaigns as a choice between stability and change. Amidst a fragile geopolitical environment and a painful reform process at home, Ukrainians likely need both, transformation and stability.

At our event, we will discuss the electoral outcome and have a closer look also at what Europe can expect from the next Ukrainian presidency. We will analyze the key determinants of the next president’s mandate for Ukraine’s foreign policy and domestic reform agenda.
