Joint podium debate by the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) and the International Renaissance Foundation (Kiev)

The very different results of the parliamentary elections in Belarus, Georgia and Ukraine show, that all three states are developing in different directions and the EU needs a differentiation of its policy in the Eastern neighborhood. For the EU and Germany it is a key question how these countries will develop in the foreseeable future. The European Integration Index for EaP-Countries (www.eap.eu) serves as a tool of civil society monitoring and provides an annual in-depth assessment of the reform process in Eastern Partnership countries. At this panel discussion we will present the European Integration Index, discuss the reform challenges of Belarus, Georgia and Ukraine following the elections and the policy of the EU and Germany towards their Eastern neighbours.
