This week, the panel will look at the situation in Sudan. As a result of fierce fighting there between government troops and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Western governments have evacuated their citizens. We will assess the international implications of the conflict, which are especially hard to predict given Russia’s involvement through the Wagner Group.

Speakers:
Marina Peter, Chair, Sudan und Südsudan Forum e. V.
András Rácz, Senior Research Fellow, Center for Order and Governance in Eastern Europe, Russia, and Central Asia, DGAP
Gerrit Kurtz, Associate in the Research Group Africa and Middle East, German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP)

Chair:
Henning Hoff, Executive Editor, Internationale Politik Quarterly, DGAP
