Russia After Crimea and Before Presidential Elections
Russia’s relations with the West have changed significantly since 2014. The level of Militarization has increased, public spaces are more controled today, and trust in the West appears to have eroded entirely. Equally, the situation in the Ukrainian occupied territories is in a stalemate.
As part of the DGAP activities ahead of the scheduled Russian presidential elections on March 18, we highlight current trends in Russian politics and present the book A Succesful Failure: Russia after Crime(a), newly published by the Centre for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding.
The speakers will focus on the current state of Putin’s power vertical, the Russian economy and foreign policy, as well as its disinformation policy both at home and abroad. This event will take place in cooperation with the journal Intersection Russia/Europe/World which has produced the book on behalf of the Centre for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding.
