Das politische Klima zwischen Deutschland und Polen hat sich zwar verbessert, dennoch gibt es sowohl auf bilateraler wie auch auf europäischer Ebene Konfliktfelder. Während des Antrittsbesuchs von Premierminister Mateusz Morawiecki im Februar diesen Jahres wurde zwar eine Intensivierung der bilateralen Beziehungen beschlossen, eine konkrete Agenda ist bislang jedoch ausgeblieben. Im Gesprächskreis Polen, unter dem Vorsitz von Markus Meckel, stellte der stellvertretende Außenminister Polens, Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk, dar, was die Staaten aus polnischer Sicht verbindet und was sie trennt.

Gibt es noch Unterstützung für die EU-Erweiterungspolitik? An konkreten Beispielen sollen Szenarien bis zum Jahr 2025 und Handlungsempfehlungen diskutiert werden.

From the 24th to the 28th of June, the second seminar in this year’s TRAIN Programme cycle took place in Belgrade, once again bringing together think tank experts from the Western Balkans and across the EU to discuss prospects for the future of regional cooperation and European integration. Following their kick-off seminar in April in Berlin, the researchers moved on in their recent meeting to the process of developing concrete scenarios and detailed outlooks for 2025.

At Tuesday at the DGAP, Christian Danielsson, Director General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations at the European Commission, gave a keynote speech about the new EU strategy for the Western Balkans. He underlined mutual interests as well as individual challenges in the accession process between the EU and the six countries of the Western Balkans.
