Audio File: Moldova, the EU and the Struggle for Reforms

How Should the Eastern Partnership be Adjusted?

Audio File: Russian Economic Influence in Central and Eastern Europe

The DGAP hosts the presentation of the report “The Kremlin Playbook”

When the Central and Eastern European countries joined the EU in 2004 and 2007, it was assumed that they would continue their democratic and economic transformation. Today, the region is experiencing a decline in democratic standards and governance practices at the same time as Russia’s economic grip on the region seems to have strengthened. This event presents the findings of the “The Kremlin Playbook:Understanding Russian Influence in Central and Eastern Europe," a study recently published by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in cooperation with the Sofia-based Center for the Study of Democracy.
