Every Thursday morning at 8:30, DGAP’s Research Institute brings together experts and high-level guests to discuss the latest developments in geopolitics. This week, we will look at the current state of Russia’s war against Ukraine, the political situation in Russia, and the upcoming NATO summit that will bring the leaders of its 31 member states together with select non-members – notably Ukraine – on July 11 and 12. Given that there are several options for security guarantees on the table as Western governments hesitate to provide full NATO membership to Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has described the summit as “fateful” for his country’s future.

This was our last Morning Briefing before the summer break. We will recommence on August 24.
