Russian Disinformation Today

Peter Pomerantsev talks about Russian propaganda and disinformation, how Russia views political warfare more generally, and the country’s efforts to exert psychological influence abroad. Despite similar aims, current Russian modes of propaganda differ radically from Soviet-era methods because of the starkly changed media landscape. According to Pomerantsev, strengthening today’s public against all forms of misinformation, rumor, and fake news requires radically rethinking the media.
