This week, following the implosion of the Syrian regime, we discuss geopolitical tensions amid political uncertainty in the West. As the world anticipates how US President-elect Donald Trump will handle the various international crises once he takes office, the EU is preparing its first meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council under the new High Representative Kaja Kallas and its first European Summit with President von der Leyen’s new Commission. Meanwhile, both France and Germany are being led by interim governments. Together with our speakers, we examine the key factors and actors involved, including Iran, and how they are effecting Europe’s capacity to act as the crisis-ridden year 2024 comes to an end.
