Short Bio

Dr. Linn Selle has been Alfred von Oppenheim Head of DGAP’s Europe Center since November 2025. For many years, she has been involved with issues relating to European integration; EU reform and enlargement; the European budgetary architecture and rule of law; and, last but not least, the capacity of the European Union and its member states to act. 

Before joining DGAP, Selle headed the European affairs work of the Representation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia to the Federal Government in Berlin. In that capacity, she was responsible for the state’s EU coordination in the Bundesrat and representing European policy interests vis-à-vis the federal government. In her previous role at the Federation of German Consumer Organizations (vzbv), she focused on questions related to EU foreign trade policy and global markets. 

From 2018 to 2024, in addition to her positions, Selle was honorary president of the European Movement Germany e.V. In 2024, she was named one of the “100 most influential figures in the German-speaking EU scene” by Table.Briefings and received the Federal Cross of Merit (Bundesverdienstkreuz).

Selle studied political science at the University of Bonn and Sciences Po Paris. She also studied European studies at the European University Viadrina where she completed her doctorate on parliamentary budget authority in the EU’s multiannual financial framework.
