Converging security interests between Canada and Europe - Transatlantic Roundtable
Canadian Forces are currently cooperating with German and other European partners in UN, NATO and EU missions in the Balkans, Afghanistan, North Africa and the Arabian Gulf, though this contribution of the “other” North American ally is sometimes overlooked by European commentators. Strategically, its national interests, values, social expectations, modus operandi and force structure make Canada a natural ally for European partners in general, but for Germany in particular.
