DGAP’s Research Institute regularly brings together experts and high-level guests to discuss the latest developments in foreign affairs. On Thursday, September 3, we will look at the intersection of two wars – Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and the US-led war against Iran. Since 2022, Iranian drone and missile technology has shaped the battlefield in Ukraine. Over the past eight months, since Iran came under attack by the United States, the relationship between Russia and Iran has deepened and the two theaters of war have increasingly converged. This convergence raises serious issues for the United States, including drained military resources. Our panel will examine both wars and the way they overlap, as well as the evolving role of the United States amid the growing entanglement.
