DGAP’s Research Institute regularly brings together experts and high-level guests to discuss the latest developments in foreign affairs. On July 10, we will discuss European China policy ahead of the EU-China summit scheduled for July 24-25, with tariffs, electric vehicles (EVs), and rare earth mineral export restrictions at the top of the agenda. Following Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi’s visit to Europe from June 30 to July 6, we will analyze the positions of European governments and Commission officials in Brussels. We will pay special attention to Germany whose foreign minister Johann Wadephul is expected to take a firmer stance on China, two years after Germany’s first China Strategy was launched in July 2023.
