The German-Israeli Future Forum Foundation – together with AJC Berlin, Internationale Politik (IP), and Women in International Security Deutschland e.V. (WIIS.de) – cordially invites you to the event.
Since the terrorist attacks against it on October 7, the state of Israel has faced one of the most challenging periods in its history. The country’s security – a fundamental pillar of its existence – has not only been shaken by the Israeli war with Hamas in the Gaza Strip but also by the unstable situation along its northern border with Lebanon and the recent unprecedented attack by Iran. This event convenes international experts for an in-depth discussion of the security implications of current developments for Israel, the wider region, and the global security landscape. It marks the conclusion of the fifth Sylke Tempel Fellowship cohort, which explored issues related to “Values in Security Policy”.
Topics of the discussion include:
- Changes in Israel’s security policy
- Women on the front line: the (new) role of women in the Israeli military
- The return of the United States to the Middle East
- Iran and its proxies in the region
- Feminist Foreign Policy in times of crisis and Germany’s handling of the war between Israel and Hamas
