At the Research Institute of the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP), international experts conduct impactful, interdisciplinary research on current issues related to foreign and security policy. They present their independent analyses and policy recommendations in various publications and in public and closed-door events that include specialist conferences, panel discussions, and study and project groups. Through this work, DGAP makes a significant contribution to the foreign policy debate in Germany and beyond.
DGAP’s Research Institute is comprised of the following five centers and one program that carry out a range of projects. The work of all of these teams is focused on three overarching issues – disruptions and breakthroughs for the world, new alliances and allies for Europe, and grand strategy for Germany.
