Veronika Grimm was elected to the Executive Board of the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) on May 24, 2023. Since 2024, she has been a professor at the Technical University of Nuremberg, where she heads the Energy Systems and Market Design Lab. Prior to that, she held academic positions at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, Humboldt University of Berlin, the University of Alicante, and the University of Cologne. She also completed extended research stays at Université Libre de Bruxelles and Université Catholique de Louvain. Since 2020, she has been a member of the German Council of Economic Experts and is active on numerous advisory boards and expert panels. Among other roles, she contributes to the National Hydrogen Council of the German Federal Government, the expert commission for monitoring the energy transition at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, the Advisory Council for Consumer Affairs at the Federal Ministry for the Environment and Consumer Protection, and the Energy Steering Panel of the European Academies’ Science Advisory Council. She also serves on the Supervisory Board of Siemens Energy AG and is a member of the Executive Board of the Hydrogen Center Bavaria (H2.B).

Her research focuses on energy markets and energy market modeling, behavioral economics, social networks, as well as auctions and market design. Throughout her career, Veronika Grimm has been especially committed to translating academic research into practical application—a dedication for which she has received numerous awards.
