Short Bio

Judith Heckenthaler is Project Officer and Assistant at the Center for Order and Governance in Eastern Europe, Russia, and Central Asia. There she works in a project on EU-Central Asia relations. Her main research interests are political developments in the Central Asian states, EU-Central Asia relations, Russia’s foreign policy and authoritarianism in Eastern Europe and Eurasia.

Previously, she worked for the ifa – Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen in St. Petersburg, Austausch e.V. and the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP). She holds a Master’s degree in Eastern European Studies from LMU Munich.
