In 2025, we are thrilled to once again offer you two fantastic training programs:
- The Think Tank School, our program designed for early-career think tank professionals, will enter its fifth round.
- The Leadership and Management Training, tailored for experienced think tankers in middle management positions, will take place for the second time.
Calls for Applications are now open. Below, you’ll find the open calls for these unique programs. If you’re interested, mark your calendars and apply!
Think Tank School
What: A hands-on, five-month training program that takes you from your initial research idea to project implementation—all while applying innovative methods and practical tools to a policy problem of your choice.
Who: Ideal for researchers and analysts with 1–6 years of experience in the think tank sector or related fields, looking to build foundational skills to maximize the impact of their research.
Program: Four interactive training modules, with self-paced project phases in between:
Module I: Think Tanks & Evidence-Informed Policymaking,
June 3-5, at DGAP, Berlin
Module II – Think Tank Products & Formats,
July 15-17, at MERICS, Berlin
Module III – Study Trip to Brussels,
September 30-October 2, at EPC, Brussels
Module IV – Public Speaking & Evaluation,
November 11-13, at DGAP, Berlin
Fee: 1175 EUR (excl. statutory VAT)

Leadership and Management Training
What: A compact training program for advanced think tankers addressing team leading responsibilities, organizational development, and fundraising strategies by offering practical tools, methods to effectively drive change and peer-learning opportunities.
Who: Ideal for professionals with 5-10 years of experience in the think tank sector or other relevant fields, who are currently managing research projects and leading teams.
Program: Two hands-on training modules, with two online sessions in between:
Module I: Sectoral Change & Managing Research Projects,
September 17– 19, at MERICS, Berlin
Two Online Peer-Learning Sessions: Working on Leadership Challenges
September 23, online & October 7, online
Module II: Leading a Team & Organizational Change,
October 15-17, at DGAP, Berlin
Fee: 790 EUR (excl. statutory VAT)
