Call for Applications: 21st New Faces Conference

June 19–23, 2014 in Tunis. "People Moving: Implications of Migration for Societies and States in North Africa"

DGAP's EU-Middle East Forum (EUMEF), in close cooperation with the Robert Bosch Stiftung, the German Federal Foreign Office, the Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (ifa), and the Centre de Tunis pour la Migration et l’Asile (CeTuMA), will hold its 21st New Faces Conference on “People Moving – Implications of Migration for Societies and States in North Africa” from June 19 – 23, 2014.

Twenty young professionals from academia, politics, and civil society will be invited to Tunis for three days. The conference program will include plenary discussions with distinguished experts as well as intensive working groups in which the participants present and discuss their own papers. The key objectives of the conference are to analyze and discuss current developments and debates around the topic of migration from and to North Africa while establishing a network of young scholars and professionals from North Africa, Turkey, and the EU.

Application deadline is April 20, 2014. Young professionals (aged around 27–35) from Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Turkey, Germany, the UK, France, Spain, Italy, and Greece are invited to apply for the New Faces Conference. Travel expenses as well as accommodation and meals will be covered. Please find all relevant information in the documents available for download.
