Diplomats and cybersecurity experts assess, among others, the new Open-ended Working Group, the UN cybercrime treaty negotiations, the coming elections for a new Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union, and identify other key dates in 2022 that may constitute important milestones for cybersecurity. Additionally, the round discusses the challenge of how to best regulate new technology at the international level and discuss which cyber threats may become most prominent in the course of the year and how we can prevent cyber incidents from happening by forging a more secure cyberspace.
