Julian Schön is a 2024/25 Young DGAP Fellow with extensive experience in machine learning, statistics and data analysis. In the fellowship, he is investigating the impact of AI in the super election year 2024. He is committed to the responsible use of AI technologies and previously conducted research at the University of Copenhagen on resource-efficient machine learning with a focus on environmental and social sustainability. He gained his expertise through his master's degree in computer science, also from the University of Copenhagen, where he specialised in the generation of image data using deep learning. He also brings experience from humanitarian projects to his work.
