Sara Olsvig is a PhD Fellow in the Nasiffik-Centre for Foreign and Security Policy at Ilisimatusarfik – the University of Greenland. She is currently the international chair of the Inuit Circumpolar Council (2022 to 2026).

Olsvig served as member of the Parliament of Denmark from 2011 to 2015 and the Parliament of Greenland from 2013 to 2018. She has led the Greenlandic political party Inuit Ataqatigiit. Olsvig was vice premier and minister of social affairs, families, gender equality, and justice in the government of Greenland from 2016 to 2018. She has also served as chair of the standing committee of parliamentarians of the Arctic region.

Olsvig is an anthropologist by training.
