Jana Lajsic supported DGAP’s Migration Program as an external consultant. Originally from Serbia, she moved to Berlin to study social sciences at the Humboldt-Universität. Her undergraduate studies explored the topics of radical right-wing parties in the EU and quantitative methods. Her interest in international politics took her to Chile with a DAAD scholarship. There, she had the opportunity to learn about political processes in South America at the Catholic University of Chile. Lajsic focused on migration in Latin American countries, especially the outflow of migration from Venezuela. In Santiago, she completed an internship at the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Relations in the department of international migration. Upon her return to Germany, she worked in the Global Migration Data Analysis Centre (GMDAC) of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) on its Migration Data Portal.
