Europe at a Crossroads After Covid-19 and the War in Ukraine
As close partners and founding members of the EU, both Germany and Italy are key to advancing European cooperation. During the Spinelli Forum 2022, young leaders from both countries developed concrete proposals how to tackle the current policy challenges over the two-day event.
The EU and its member states face an increasing number of challenges that require close cooperation at the European level, as shown by the Russian aggression against Ukraine and its consequences for Europe and the world. These challenges include fulfilling and preserving the promise of prosperity to the benefit of all European citizens, securing the global competitiveness of European economies, successfully transforming European economies to adapt to climate change and the digital revolution, and enhancing European security in the context of increasing geopolitical competition.
