The European Union and the Far Right

This episode, the panel looks at right-wing politics in the EU. As the radical Right is increasingly mainstreamed, the center Right seems to be mimicking its rhetoric and policies, particularly around issues of identity, immigration, and Islam. Meanwhile, some leaders on the far Right – such as Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni – are slightly moderating their Euroscepticism, enabling them to cooperate with the center Right. Together, we will examine how these dynamics are changing the EU, especially with a view to the 2024 election of the European Parliament.
