With a discussion forum on Morocco and presentations by the participants on the Euro-Mediterranean relations, the seminar helped establish ties to the 3rd annual Franco-German Future Dialogue in North Africa, which will take place in Rabat, Morocco in October 2012. The seminar’s cultural program gave participants the opportunity to gain insights on the changes Marseille is currently undergoing in preparation for its role as European Capital of Culture in 2013.

The annual Franco-German Future Dialogue, organized collectively by the DGAP, the Institut français des relations internationales, and the Robert Bosch Foundation, brings together 20 German and French young leaders annually. Over the course of three meetings, participants discuss the latest developments in German, French, and European politics. In 2012, the Franco-German Dialogue will establish ties between Europe and North Africa by holding a seminar in Morocco, thus facilitating an exchange of ideas between German, French, and Moroccan participants on a number of trilateral topics. The Dialogue also supports exchanges between young professionals and doctoral students from the Mediterranean region in order to make the achievements of the Franco-German partnership more widely available to other partners in the context of new research areas.
