EU and Ukraine – Integration or Stagnation?

Ukraine’s integration process with the European Union is in a crucial moment. All critical points in the negotiations of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement has been clarified. Now it needs the political will from both sides, to sign the agreement. Because of the Timoshenko trial and the growing authoritarian tendencies in Ukraine, the EU is increasingly skeptical about signing the agreement. At the same time the Ukrainian government gets integrations offers by Russia in the context of the Eurasian Union. The goal of this two panels meeting is to discuss, what is the current state of the EU-Ukrainian relations and what are the barriers for the continuation of the integration process? The basis for the discussion will be the report edited by Taras Kuzio/Daniel Hamilton, “Open Ukraine. Changing Course towards a European Future” which offers analysis and recommendations on Ukrainian domestic and foreign policy: http://www.forum-ekonomiczne.pl/1910,Report

The conference addresses selected experts from politics, economy, academia and journalism.
