Dr. Ole Diehl has been vice president of DGAP since October 2026.

Previously, Diehl was vice president of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Germany (BND). He served as Germany’s ambassador in Baghdad and consul general in Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan, among other posts. Early in his career, Diehl worked as a Russia specialist at DGAP’s Research Institute under Professor Karl Kaiser.
