Nino Abzianidze is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) and a Senior Researcher at the Centre for Social Sciences (CSS), Tbilisi, Georgia. Nino holds a PhD degree in political science from the University of Zurich, Switzerland. At various times, she has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Departments of Political Science at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and the Central European University in Budapest. She has also conducted research at the School of Media and Communication of the University of Leeds in the UK. Her research interests revolve around the issues of political communication in and for democracy and democratization. For the last 10 years, Nino has been conducting media research in the contexts of democratization, Europeanization, nationalism and civil conflicts. She is also interested in political methodology with a specific focus on text/content analysis and Social Network Analysis.
