David Bosold is an associate fellow with the Transatlantic Relations Program at the DGAP Research Institute and teaches at the University of Jena.

From February 2008 to March 2011, he was head of the DGAP’s International Forum on Strategic Thinking (2008-2010) and the Council’s EU-Middle East Forum (2011). In addition, he was the DGAP's liaison officer for the second and third year of the International Diplomats Programme in 2010 and 2011. Before joining the DGAP, he was secretary of the Association for Canadian Studies in the German-speaking countries (2005-2007) and coordinated numerous activities between Canadian academics and German, Austrian, and Swiss partners. In addition, he was a research assistant and Ph.D. candidate at the University of Marburg.

David Bosold studied political science at the University of Marburg and the Université Laval, Quebec. He has published articles on Canadian and German foreign policy as well as on human security.
