Silvena Garelova joined DGAP in 2019 and worked with the Goerdeler Kolleg for Good Governance of the Robert Bosch Center for Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, and Central Asia until December 2020.
Since 2017, she has been an associate lecturer for adult and further education with the Department of Education of Humboldt-Universität, Berlin, where she is also pursuing a doctorate.
She has worked as a freelance expert in the education sector since 2015, advising on the professionalization of teaching and the organizational development of further education providers by means of trainings as well as systemic and process consulting. Key to her work as an educationalist in Germany and abroad is the focus on promoting integrity through both, general and vocational, adult and further education.
Silvena Garelova has been involved in strengthening civil society through political adult education in Southeastern Europe, the Caucasus, and North Africa since 2007. In 2009. She founded the award-winning international adult education program “Balkans, let’s get up!”, which she continues to advise on strategic development on a volunteer basis.
She studied European studies, adult education/lifelong learning, and psychology and is a certified trainer and systemic consultant (isb-Wiesloch).
