Kaan Sahin was a DGAP research fellow for technology and foreign policy from April 2019 through March 2021. During that time, he took a hiatus to serve as Strategic Advisor for Cyber Diplomacy/EU Presidency at Germany’s Federal Foreign Office, where he now works as a technology fellow in its policy planning unit.

Previously, Sahin worked with Deloitte as a consultant on cyber risk and the public sector. Prior to that, he received a Mercator Fellowship on International Affairs and specialized in strategies to combat hybrid threats. In this capacity, he was based with the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), the Special Representative of the OSCE for the Southern Caucasus, Carnegie Europe, and the Strategic Analysis Capability Section at NATO Headquarters.

Sahin studied political science at the University of Duisburg-Essen and international politics and peace research at the University of Tübingen, the University of Connecticut, and Koç University in Istanbul.
