Industrial, political, and technological developments in the nuclear domain pose immense challenges for Germany, as do tasks related to safeguards, nuclear nonproliferation, decommissioning, and the disposal of radioactive waste. In cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Economic and Energy Affairs and the Forschungszentrum Jülich, DGAP has established a network of academics, practitioners, policymakers, and other stakeholders concerned with these issues. Meetings of the working group on nuclear technologies and nonproliferation (WG2N) convene on a regular basis to pool expertise.
