The DGAP's EU-Middle East Forum (EUMEF), in close cooperation with the Robert Bosch Stiftung and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung in Istanbu,l will hold its 20th New Faces Conference on the topic “Citizenship and Political Participation in the Mediterranean Region” from February 27 through March 2, 2014 in Istanbul.

Twenty young professionals from academia, politics, the media, the private sector, and civil society organizations will be invited to Istanbul for three days. The conference program will include plenary discussions with distinguished scholars as well as intensive working groups in which the participants present and discuss their own papers. The key objectives of the conference are to analyze and discuss current developments and debates around citizenship and political participation in the Mediterranean region while establishing a network of young scholars and professionals from North Africa, Turkey, and the EU.
Application deadline December 1, 2013: Young professionals (aged 27–35) from North Africa, Turkey, Germany, the UK, France, Spain, Italy, and Greece are invited to apply to the New Faces Conference.
