Negotiators from around the world are currently convening in Dubai for the 28th World Climate Conference (COP28). Their negotiations address topics that will shape the future of international climate diplomacy – measures to accelerate the global energy transition, the future of climate finance, and the operationalization and capitalization of the Loss and Damage Fund.

After the conference concludes, we will take stock at this discussion event at which Jennifer Morgan, State Secretary and Special Envoy for Climate Action at the Federal Foreign Office, will share her assessment of COP28 and the negotiation outcomes.

Moreover, we look forward to a debate with the following experts:
Vishwas Chitale, Senior Lead of the Climate Resilience Team, Council on Energy, Environment, and Water (New Delhi, India)
Florian Krampe, Director Climate Change and Risk Program, Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (Stockholm, Sweden)
Kira Vinke, Head of the Center for Climate and Foreign Policy, DGAP (Berlin, Germany)

Moderator: Sara Schurmann, Journalist and Author
