In the wake of the 2023 Munich Security Conference and on the eve of the first anniversary of Putin’s brutal war in Ukraine, the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) invites you to a keynote speech and panel discussion on the transatlantic commitment to support Ukraine and push back against the Russian aggression. President Biden confirmed in his State of Union Address that the United States will continue to support Ukraine for as long as it takes. The intrinsic value and necessity of transatlantic solidarity has therefore never been greater. The United States and its allies must continue to work together to utilize a wide range of available tools – military, humanitarian, and economic assistance for Ukraine as well as sanctions against Russia – to ensure that Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence are preserved. The coming months will be decisive as Russia’s aggression stretches into year two.
