With the increasing integration of connected vehicles into global transport networks, significant security concerns related to espionage, surveillance, and sabotage have emerged. In response, the United States has issued a ban on Chinese and Russian software and hardware in connected vehicles. Meanwhile, Europe continues to follow an actor-agnostic approach, focusing on general cybersecurity standards rather than imposing country-specific restrictions. However, this approach may no longer be sufficient to address the geopolitical risks associated with connected vehicles.
This high-level panel discussion will bring together diplomats, policymakers, and experts to analyze the cybersecurity challenges of connected vehicles and discuss how European cooperation can contribute to shaping a broader European strategy.
