In a quickly changing global order that has far-reaching consequences for our continent, the reestablished Europe Center at DGAP addresses the most pressing issues of the European order and integration. With renewed momentum, the center advances the European policy debate in Germany through scientifically sound and politically independent analysis and advice while serving as a platform for exchange among key stakeholders.
To mark the center’s relaunch, we are pleased to welcome Former Executive Vice-President of the European Commission Margrethe Vestager to deliver the opening speech. Her remarks will be followed by a high-level panel discussion that will bring together different regional perspectives.
With the panelists, we will assess the prospects for shaping the European continent and a European power architecture in light of the current challenges to the rules-based order – externally from great power politics and internally from growing centrifugal forces within the European Union.
