In our third IPQ Debate we will further explore themes from our Fall 2024 issue on European defense.

The outcome of the US presidential election on November 5 is too close to predict – and hugely consequential, not least for Europe. Kamala Harris would likely conduct foreign policy that is broadly in line with US President Joe Biden’s, including continued support for Ukraine. Donald Trump, however, would likely pose more fundamental challenges for Europe, its security, and the future of the transatlantic relationship. Our panelists will take stock of the outcome of the US election and assess its implications for Europe and transatlantic relations.
