This year’s G7 Summit will take place in June under the German Presidency. At the top of the agenda: tackling global challenges to creating a sustainable planet. To this end, the G7 will work to protect the climate, environment, and biodiversity as well as to accelerate the global energy transition.

This roundtable will provide early and first-hand insights on the initiatives and measures planned by the German and Japanese governments to promote this goal. The panelists will assess Japan’s, Germany’s, and the European Union’s new climate policy initiatives with a view to how they can be leveraged through joint efforts at the G7 Summit.

Our experts will also explore the differences among the approaches to reaching carbon neutrality taken by Japan, Germany, and the EU and how they may impact the initiatives promoted at this summit.

A Q&A session will follow the discussion and provide the opportunity to ask questions and give feedback and input.
