EUMEF's 16th New Faces Conference, “Socio-Economic Malaise as a Security Threat - Which Model and Reforms for Egypt?”

During the three-day conference, 17 Young Professionals from Egypt, Europe, and Turkey came together to discuss the appropriate economic model for a country in transition, possible participatory mechanisms to democratize the economic policy-making process as well as the economic agenda of new political actors and the role of external powers such as the EU or the Gulf countries in supporting Egypt with its reforms. Joint solutions were developed pertaining to inter alia the strengthening of civil society, the improvement of education, and job creation.
