The European ‘Enable and Enhance Initiative’ for International Crisis Prevention
In December 2013 the European Council emphasized the importance of empowering global partners to take more responsibility for regional security. The “Enable and Enhance Initiative” (E2I) aims to strengthen international crisis prevention through the provision of training, advice, and, if necessary, equipment. The workshop will examine E2I’s theoretical concept and its potential for practical implementation. What exactly does the concept entail? What do “training”, “education” and “enabling” mean in this context? How and to what extent can this approach be anchored outside the EU, and how can it be coordinated with other international partners?
The event is held under the Chatham House Rule, and will be held in English.
