Every Thursday morning at 8:30, DGAP’s Research Institute brings together experts and high-level guests to discuss the latest developments in geopolitics. This week, we will take stock of the EU-Ukraine summit that was held in Kyiv on February 2 and 3, focusing on the prospects for accelerated EU accession for Ukraine and reforming the stagnating accession process. With skepticism growing, notably among western EU member states, how should the EU rethink “Eastern enlargement” and its Eastern Partnership framework, particularly in the run-up to the European Commission’s first big assessment on the candidate status of Ukraine and other countries in October?

In this context, we will discuss ideas from DGAP’s recent paper on enlargement and neighborhood policy.
