Morning Briefing 14.11.2024

Speakers:

Josef Janning, Senior Associate Fellow, DGAP

Sylvie Kauffmann, Editorial Director, Le Monde

Stefan Meister, Head of the Center for Order and Governance in Eastern Europe, Russia, and Central Asia, DGAP

Chair: Henning Hoff, Executive Editor, Internationale Politik Quarterly, DGAP

Every Thursday morning, DGAP’s Research Institute brings together experts and high-level guests to discuss the latest developments in foreign affairs. This week, we will examine how Europeans will have to adapt their foreign and security policy following the reelection of Donald Trump, who has pledged to bring a quick end to Russia’s war on Ukraine. We will not only assess the effects of Trump’s presidency on Europe’s policies toward Russia and Ukraine but also, more generally, on transatlantic relations and the European Union’s capacity to act.
