Dr. Laura Gelhaus joined DGAP in April 2021 as a research fellow. She manages the Network of Think Tanks on the Eastern Partnership project.
In 2021, Gelhaus completed a joint PhD in politics and international studies at the University of Warwick and University of Geneva. Her thesis focuses on the external governance of the Common Agricultural Policy with a specific view to Georgia. Her research draws on sociology and political geography to improve the conceptualization of EU performance on the ground.
During her PhD, Gelhaus was seconded to the German Marshall Fund of the United States in Brussels, where she conducted research on EU external relations, the EU’s external image, and civil society in the Eastern Partnership. She teaches research methods at the University of Warwick.
Gelhaus also holds master’s degrees in political science and public administration from the University of Konstanz and in international security from the University of Warwick.
