Belarus between Russia and the EU
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko is deftly using the differences between Russia and the EU in the common neighborhood to preserve his regime. It constantly switches between confrontation and cooperation when dealing with both sides, thereby strengthening its sovereignty.
