The #EUvsVirus Hackathon takes place from April 24 to 26 and brings together civil society, politics, and companies to develop innovative ideas for short-term solutions to the most urgent challenges of the COVID-19 crisis. Within only 48 hours, individuals and teams from all over Europe can jointly design solutions in the fields of health and medicine, business, social cohesion, protection of risk groups, and education. The best ideas will then be promoted through the community platform of the European Innovation Council (EIC).

At DGAP, we are already addressing the ramifications of the coronavirus in numerous publications and digital events, which aim to help the European Union play a strong role in overcoming the pandemic (visit www.dgap.org for more details). After all, joint crisis management in a Europe of solidarity and with an EU capable of action are key to sustainably moving forward.

If you would also like to develop ideas together with other Europeans and support their implementation, please register for the #EUvsVirus Hackathon and contribute as an individual participant, a mentor for a thematic challenge, or a partner organization. Become part of a European movement in which civil society, business, and politics join forces to develop pan-European solutions to the most pressing challenges of the coronavirus crisis.

Registration is possible until the start of the event on April 24 at https://euvsvirus.org/. There, you will also find further information about the Hackathon and different ways to contribute. On our usual channels, we will cover the initiative using the hashtag #EUvsVirus. If you have any questions or want to know more about this initiative, please contact Claire Luzia Leifert (leifert@dgap.org).
