Chair:

France and its national space agency, CNES, are traditionally key players in space policy, technology, and business in Europe. The “New Space economy” poses a significant challenge to the French – and European – space sector. The French industry is actively changing in response, however. At first glance, France is well positioned in the evolving and increasingly competitive space environment and may well be able to accommodate the new business environment.

How does CNES react to the New Space challenge? What needs to be done to maintain European leadership in space? What are CNES’s expectations regarding the upcoming European Space Agency’s ministerial council meeting? Where does CNES see its future priorities? How does international cooperation contribute to CNES achieving its goals?

The event is organized by the DGAP’s Future Forum Berlin as part of its series “New Space: Gefahr oder Chance für die europäische Raumfahrt?” (Threat to or Opportunity for the European Space Industry?).
