Sexual violence in conflict is widespread, affecting women, men and children. In addition to the physical and psychological trauma suffered by survivors, sexual violence adds to ethnic, sectarian and other divisions, entrenching conflict and instability.

The biggest ever global meeting on this issue will be hosted in London on 10-13 June by UK Foreign Secretary William Hague and Special Envoy for the UN High Commission for Refugees Angelina Jolie. This summit will be accompanied by an event relay in 69 countries.

This will be followed by a screening of the film “In the Land of Blood and Honey”, directed by Angelina Jolie.
